I've been here a few times previously, and spent hundreds of dollars. Went in today and asked a couple questions to determine the part I would have to order from them in order to fix an issue with my outboard. Initially the service guy was helpful, but became short and rude with me, when his superior with the glasses said he could not help me fix my motor. He pushed having me bring in my boat for a diagnostic, which I had already done myself. Refusing assistance in an effort to upsell is just dopey way to run a business. I get that businesses need to make money, and I have given these guys plenty already. I don't get the contempt for a young guy who likes to fix things himself and can't necessarily afford to pay a mechanic 150$/ hr to do a diagnostic (that I've already done.) I was going to support a local business and get the part through them, but now I'll just get the part through amazon for a fraction of what they charge. Obviously they want to upsell service , but don't be a parts shop if you don't want to sell parts.

A & E Marine has taken amazing care of my boat, from repairs to general or seasonal maintenance and even some upgrades! These guys are true experts at their craft, and I couldn't be happier with the customer service and communication they've provided every step along the way. They regularly go above and beyond to deliver great results. Ray, Dennis & Clayton are the gentlemen I've dealt with, and I've been nothing but impressed at every turn. A reliable maintenance / repair team is a necessity when it comes to boating, and with A & E, you get true pros and a team you can count on who will stand by their work. Thanks to them, the 2023 boating season was a great success!! I appreciate all the hard work and diligence gents! Thank you!!!

Really disappointed with these guys: We took our boat in for an insurance assessment, with Ray assuring me the job would be taken care of promptly. We had a friend's recommendation. Sadly, their old reputation is no longer warranted. They promise a lot and then deliver very little. After the mechanic's "assessment" Dennis tells me what I already knew: the engine runs fine but the drive is torn loose from the boat due to an impact (log hit). He also fesses up that my job cannot start until after the season is over and it will cost a lot more than the insurance settlement because of - blah, blah, blah, nonsense. Simply put, the boat obviously needs a new drive but otherwise it's okay. His "assessment" consists of only dis-jointed, cryptic and unintelligible mechanic's notes of a "visual inspection" without conclusions. His somewhat helpful verbal information was not provided in his assessment. When I asked, Dennis was entirely resistant to writing a more professional report that I could make some sense of. So for a $655.20 in charges, I get one amateurish paragraph of useless scribble. Dennis said that I should take my concerns to his partner Ray, which I did. 10 minutes on the word processor and I would have been at least satisfied that I had received something of value for me and the Adjuster. Update: immediately after this posting, Ray responded with a much improved report. I appreciate it, Ray.

Grumpy dudes at the service desk. Seemingly uninterested in providing solutions, more into pushing services I don't need. Thanks guys! Good luck with that.
