Preparing for an upcoming major surgery I was sent to this office for some important medical equipment that I would need for several months of recovery. A few days before the surgery I went to this place and following Instructions knocked on the door and waited. After a few minutes a very unfriendly and rude older lady with an English accent opened the door and gruffly asked me what I wanted. I explained that I was here to pick up some medical equipment and a form explaining this was supposed to be faxed to this office. She demanded my name and while I was still trying to talk to her she slammed the door and locked it. I looked at my wife and shrugged. After about 15 minutes we were beginning to get angry when a more helpful man opened the door and told us we were supposed to be called by phone first for our visit. I explained we did not know that but with only a few days to go before surgery I wanted the promised equipment. He said they were all volunteers there and someone must of missed calling us to come for our visit. I told the helpful man that just because they are all volunteers and occasionally screw up do not make the people who have the need pay for it with rudeness added to their visit. Very sad for people to experience the lack of respect given to them when their health is in major decline.

Such a supportive, compassionate service, and amazing respectful staff. We were astounded and grateful with the quick response to our needs when we were in need. Thank you so much!! We have made a donation to Red Cross BC to assist your services in continuing to meet those in need in their most vulnerable and difficult times.

Being a disabled person myself I found that the staff was unfriendly and did not assist me in any way. Although it is available for everyone the equipment is very limited. I had to buy my own walker elsewhere as the Red Cross told me I was too big for their walkers. Won't be going back.

Unhelpful staff who were unable to provide the appropriate equipment for my daughter's needs. Twice we were given the wrong equipment or the right equipment with missing or incorrect components. Definitely would not recommend to anyone.

Staff are great and try to help you. It is a great organization that helps people afford things needed to recover from medical issues.
