Dr Clapson has just performed my second cataract surgery and I could not be more pleased. I didn't realize how much of an improvement it would make. Colours are more vivid and I am able to drive again at night. No more "starbursts" from on-coming vehicles. We are very fortunate to have such a skilled doctor in our Valley! Thank you, Dr Clapson.

To say I am disappointed with the results of my cataract surgery would be an understatement. After $2000 out of pocket I have horrible vision and driving at night is downright dangerous. To be told "sometimes we just don't get it right" and "your age group is the most difficult to please", and then told it was all she could do and I would just have to live with corrective lenses and "make due" with driving at night was unacceptable. So, schedule a consult with Dr Shaver, "I would never have put those lenses in", I felt sick to my stomach. "Nothing can be done now, sorry". I should have done my due diligence and got 2 opinions in the first place but thought (and heard) that these surgeries were routine and you would "love" your new eyes. Not in my case.........

On or about August 18, 2023 I had the privelege of being referred by the Comox Hospital Emergency to see Dr. Kathryn Clapson for urgent care to do with a serious eye injury. I was in to see Dr. Clapson with 24 hours!
I must say that this practice has state of art equipment to properly diagnose any eye injury.
I can't say how much I appreciate your staff and the support you provided with your diagnosis and medical treatment thereafter as I returned back to Port Moody, BC.
It was a difficult go, but I am 110% healed and can see much better today. It was a scary moment for me as this was my first encounter with an injury concerning my eye and I couldn't have been referred to a better Opthalmologist and am blessed for that!
Thank you for being there for me Dr. Clapson and thank you so much for your office to have set up the referral / followup, which went very well now that I am 100% Cured!
Sending many blessings to you and your staff!

One of her staff was extremely rude to multiple othe patients. I let her know my concerns, one was barely being able to see after catarac surgery, along pain discomfort I was having. She was very patronizing and told me I was just hyper aware. The surgery was many months ago and I have had my other one done. She dismissed all my concerns and refused to give me any real information. I said I was having double vision and mentioned letting my family doc know( blurred vision can be a sign of other issues). She got very offended that I would suggest speaking to my gp. So I now am 34 with terrible vision and no answers as to why. I left a message to be referred to a specialist and I have a feeling that will be a battle. She didn't even hear all my concerns because she was to busy being dismissive and patronizing.

Unfortunately, I felt unwelcomed walking into this establishment.
I wish the best for your receptionist, hoping you find something that makes you happy. Maybe it’s not this job.
