We were hungry around 5:00 and were surprised to find this restaurant already a quarter full when we arrived. My wife is Chinese and doesn't normally like “Canadian Chinese buffet” but she really enjoyed this one.
The staff were friendly and nice. The buffet had a good selection and everything was fresh and refilled quickly. We enjoyed the buffet but next time we go back will probably order off the menu because there were more traditional Chinese dishes on the menu that weren't on the buffet.

East Kitchen is a great spot in Courtenay for a tasty and affordable buffet. The food is fresh, always well-stocked, and there's a good variety to choose from. It's a warm, friendly, family-run place that makes you feel right at home. Highly recommend!"

Very good North American Chinese buffet all I can eat. Extremely friendly staff. Very tasty food with a nice variety. Love the pandas.

It was great. Went on New Year's Day, There was 9 of us at separate tables. They were swamped. The wonderful lady serving us must have been the owner. She warned us about how busy it was, but still managed to get food to us very quickly. She also stopped us from ordering way to much food which was appreciated. She was great with the kids and the food was excellent. Our new tradition when in Courtney.
