Our stay at the Ford's Cove Cottage was amazing! We wanted a ocean view but didn't want to camp due to the unpredictable weather on the island in the fall. Fords cove was I'd say the best price on Hornby, it has everything you need. Full kitchen with pots/pans and utensils etc., bathroom with toilet and shower. The view from the gorgeous deck or even the view from inside was amazing! We spent alot of time inside due to the rain but could still enjoy the ocean view from in the cozy warm cabin. The convenience store has everything you need if you forgot something, and the restaurant above that has good food with a beauty view! I highly recommend Ford's Cove for their cottages if your thinking of going to the island!

This is my families happy place! We have been camping there for 5 years. It is the perfect place to reset and create family moments that will last lifetime’s. The people that run it are more than amazing. They become family! Renaldo's always so busy making sure the place runs smoothly and that people will have the most fulfilling Time and experience but always takes those moments to check in with the guests. Soliea (sorry if it’s spelt wrong) is the most amazing human in the store front. My children love you and so do we. The pizza at ford’s cove is not only affordable but it some of the best pizza we have ever eaten! Better and less expensive than Hornby pizza in our opinion. The restaurant is amazing and has a better view than most restaurants on earth. This camp ground has everything. The new showers are amazing. I hope they upgrade the sinks to match soon. The rock beach provides swimming areas for all levels and great caves to explore and sea life to observe! Do the island a favour and bring your own water in a 5 gallon jug because of you run out you can re fill it for cheap across from the store. The fords cove store is the most affordable store on the island for the essentials but the many farm stores and farmers markets provide great prices on fruits and vegetables. There is no reason to bring either to their island when you can but the best local! The camp ground is full of families that we look forward to seeing every year. Thank you so much for sharing this piece of paradise with us every year.

Grocery store was great restaurant I skipped. Before I even sat I was witnessing poor uninviting behaviour by one of the staff to a current patron. I simply did not want my business to support that nor be in a room with that energy. Too bad the spot looked great. Ate a snack fro grocery store then had a meal "downtown"

I have camped here in the past and have had a better experience than this past time. For the price (about $61 with tax for a campsite a night) it was a bit lack lustre. We were in a very small site that seemed to be half the size of the other sites but the same price. We were so close to our neighbours it was a bit much. Also there are only two bathrooms for all (16?)sites. There is one shower in one of the bathroom stalls, and if someone is taking a shower, it means there is only one bathroom for about 75 campers. They have a bathroom in their restaurant above the store but you are not allowed to use it, even as a camper of the site attached. This is not super clear and I was rudely told I couldn’t use it by staff of the restaurant. Although I understand Hornby is in a drought right now, there just aren’t enough facilities for the amount of campers they have, and since there are practically 0 public bathrooms on Hornby, it’s expected that the place your camping could provide adequate amounts. It seems they have added more campsites, upped the price and not upgraded any of the service. The staff at the store are really really kind and helpful, and the pizza is great. I don’t think our small site should be priced the same as the full sized sites.
