Terrible rudeness from the bored and yet “you’re an inconvenience “ female sales person today at the print desk. I was just making conversation. I get that being friendly or offering anything remotely considered as “service” these days is rare but if you hate your job that much - work somewhere else!!!!
Oh and don’t bother trying to call the customer service line. No one answers. Too busy chatting amongst themselves in the store. I’ll go elsewhere. It seems to be what Staples wants!

I agree with many other reviewers. I have had one or two positive interactions with the staff, the many other times have been some of the worst I have experienced from customer service. The younger staff doesn't seem as well informed about the store, but there is specifically one older woman who was ridiculously rude every time I have had to deal with her. I have a business account, and now only print here if absolutely necessary.
I have ordered items for pickup, bought in store and printed at this staples, and had issues with all services. I would recommend Sure Copy in Courtenay for printing instead I have heard amazing things and its owner operated so if there are any issues it can be resolved appropriately and without making the customer feel like they are the problem.
At this staples you will pay for the convenience - one way or another!

Bought an apple watch less than a week ago and it went on sale for $40 off. I went in with my receipt to get the price difference (as it says on the website), and the employee quite rudely said they only do that if you return the item and buy another of the same item which makes no sense. I don’t know his name (very short hair and black shirt) but he clearly doesn’t know the company’s own policies. I have the receipt, it says on the website that they refund the difference (see photo), why do I need to return the watch and buy another identical one? No other store does that. It is ridiculous.
Edit: went to campbell river store and they said “its no problem” and did it in less than 10 minutes. Thanks Campbell River store

Copy and print is some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They have no idea how to help you PRINT things even though it is in the name COPY AND PRINT. Only go there because I have to, very poorly run department.

Same as some other reviews here. Getting through on the phone is a terrible process. Left to wait on hold for a time, only to have an automated voice say "call back later". This has been going on for years. Answering the phone should be a top priority. These are...customers...trying to call and give you business. And you can bet the competition answers their phone.
When visiting the store, staff is nowhere to be found. And in general, I find it takes me several times longer then competing stores to get in and get help.
This causes me to want to avoid staples and only go there if someone else doesn't have what I need.
2024 update: Still very poorly run. I would advise staying far away from this location. Every time I deal with them, its filled with frustration and time wasting. I have been calling over and over and almost 45 minutes and no one answers the phone anywhere. Print center, order pickup, customer service, technology are all not answering their phones.
Response to Staples support: Perhaps one of your dedicated team could show up at the location and actually answer a ringing phone, as opposed to spending time on canned responses that do nothing to correct how the store operates. This has been going on for years, and has consistently been my experience. The other reviews also detail these very same issues repeatedly.
It's not my intention to be rude. But the reality is, there is problems at that location. And a soothing comment won't fix anything.
