We enjoyed our meal here. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and the staff are personable. We especially appreciated the helpful tips on what to order.
We started with the beef brisket nachos. They were generously topped with brisket, which was delicious, though I would have loved a bit more cheese since it felt slightly light.
For our mains, we had the halibut fish and chips. The batter was so crispy, and the halibut was beautifully moist and flaky inside. I also appreciated the thoughtful touch of the little spray bottles of vinegar.
Service was quick, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit.
For dessert, we tried the Nanaimo cheesecake and the berry crumble. The cheesecake was good. The berry crumble wasn’t quite for me I found it a bit too soupy and slightly lacking in flavour.
Overall, we had a great dinner and would definitely come back!

Amazing spot and I was so excited to find out their entire kitchen was gluten free! The most delicious fish and chips! They also had a great deal on for a main and dessert combo. Our server was lovely as well, I'll definitely be back!

A beautiful find! This charming fish n chips has the best Halibut and a light, crispy batter. Best in Comox I feel. The staff is really nice. Washrooms are clean. No more than a ten minute wait for your order. It’s bright and cheery place.

So we searched ‘best fish and chips’ and landed on Off the Hook. We didn’t find out until after dinner the menu is 100% Gluten Free. The fish was amazing. The menu is varied and has options for everyone including kids. The space is pleasantly decorated and kids are clearly welcome. We had Salmon and Cod. My spouse had a salad with hers which was well presented and tasty. Naturally she taste tasted half my fries to be sure I was enjoying them as much as she suspected.

A very nice diner choice in Comox area. Superior food quality with a bit above average price. My family had a very satisfying dinning experience. Street parking available and easy to find a spot.
