I had a wonderful dining experience at this charming, family-owned German restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and kindness. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and our server was incredibly polite, attentive, and made us feel right at home.
The food was truly outstanding. I ordered the blue cheese burger, and it was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and generously topped with rich, tangy blue cheese that balanced beautifully with the rest of the ingredients. You can really taste the care and quality in every bite.
It’s clear that this restaurant is run with passion and pride. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and genuine hospitality. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We knew nothing of Avenue Bistro before walking through the doors and I am so happy we checked it out. We were met with charming, attentive, friendly service and delicious homemade German food. I was so tempted to order a burger (my go-to) but when I saw Schnitzel on the menu I had to try it along with the local beer. So good!!! A true gem!

A brilliant find on our visit to ‘The Island’.
Friendly and attentive service, great beers from the local Ace Brewery ( my wife enjoyed the house Sauvignon Blanc too). The food was incredible: obviously fresh and perfectly prepared. Utterly delicious and thoroughly recommended. Well worth the short journey from the centre of Comox.
Eat there as soon as you can!
