I had a wonderful dining experience at this charming, family-owned German restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and kindness. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and our server was incredibly polite, attentive, and made us feel right at home.
The food was truly outstanding. I ordered the blue cheese burger, and it was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and generously topped with rich, tangy blue cheese that balanced beautifully with the rest of the ingredients. You can really taste the care and quality in every bite.
It’s clear that this restaurant is run with passion and pride. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and genuine hospitality. I’ll definitely be coming back!

First time here and the food was delicious. I like the variety of veggies offered and the meat was clearly cooked by a trained chef. Will be back.

We knew nothing of Avenue Bistro before walking through the doors and I am so happy we checked it out. We were met with charming, attentive, friendly service and delicious homemade German food. I was so tempted to order a burger (my go-to) but when I saw Schnitzel on the menu I had to try it along with the local beer. So good!!! A true gem!

Food is still great after the new owners took over, definitely a different menu as well as atmosphere but all in all is enjoyable. The brunch we had was great, my partner had the Eggs Benny and I had the Ruben (not sure if they still offer a Ruben) we were both happy with our brunch.
Definitely worth coming by to check out and see for your self, you will leave full and satisfied.
Also the staff are amazing!

Great little find tucked away on the main drag in Comox (where options are pretty limited). Upscale bistro menu items with a German flair. Food was delicious. Interesting cocktails. Nice staff. Ate on the patio, but inside looked nice as well.
