Great stay at The Westerly. Rooms are spacious and clean albeit a little outdated but everything we needed was there. The balcony with the bistro set was a nice place to sit. What I really liked was the breakfast bar. I travel a fair bit and this was by far the best breakfast I've seen. There were at least 7 cereals, fruit, yogurt, pancakes, French toast, 2 kinds of eggs , bacon and sausage, hashbrowns, a great selections of breads, muffins, bagels and Pastries. We also went to their buffet dinner in the evening. For $18.95 we had a homestyle turkey dinner. Staff are all very friendly. Overall, I recommend the Westerly.

Hats off to Rhiannon and Matthew for a great job on the desk. Also to Brenda for cleaning our room so well. Pat and I appreciate the service. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic!

Honestly had a very good experience here... up until we tried to go for breakfast. When we checked in, we were told breakfast goes till 1030. We showed up for breakfast at 10am to eat before we left. The host said that breakfast shut down at 10:00 , but there was still food left. That was all fine and dandy until we went to get plates, and this greasy, grumpy line cook came out. We were grabbing food from the buffet hot hold and he walked right in front of my girlfriend and starts slamming equipment around. He might as well have told us to go f ourselves. Dude was super greasy too, honestly.. probably a good thing we didn't get to eat that food. Check out the Bayview hotel, stayed there before and it was amazing service and they have a pool with a slide

For me this had to be the hotel of choice for me and for my purpose of being in Courtenay. I initially booked for 2 nights for $460. This was expensive for the island but convenient for what I needed. It wasn't till I returned home that I realised the site I booked on was in US$. Now we were looking at C$653 plus change. No, No, No. This was so not worth it. The hotel and room was inadequate for the monies. Nope, never again, I will research more. Leason learned...
