Used this hotel as a base for a few days over the Labour Day long weekend while on the island to attend our friends' wedding. Good value at the time of booking. Free parking and decent self-serve breakfast included. Comfortable beds. Friendly and helpful staff. Very close to amenities (i.e. walkable), being very central within Courtenay. Hotel is showing its age a bit, but still very comfortable. Not fancy, but has all the features I'd hope for in a classic hotel.
Note: Not all rooms are accessible by elevator. The staff did ask us if we were okay with one of such rooms before handing over they keys. When I said it was fine with us, they also offered to help with bags (we declined but appreciated the offer). Wasn't an issue for us, but if you require an elevator-accessible room, perhaps mention this when you book to be sure.

The room was nice, lots of bright lights, great air conditioner, comfy bed, lots of pillows to choose from, and a damn good breakfast spread. They let us park our motorcycles out front under the covered area so they were visible from the front desk. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Price was okay too. Walking distance to grocery stores and a few food options.

Great staff. This hotel is downtown, so it gets noisy, maybe not the safest if you want to be out late. We picked this location because it was close to the venue we were going to. Breakfast is included and has a lot of variety. They have a beautiful lobby with a fireplace. Rooms are basic, but the bed was very very comfortable.

For me this had to be the hotel of choice for me and for my purpose of being in Courtenay. I initially booked for 2 nights for $460. This was expensive for the island but convenient for what I needed. It wasn't till I returned home that I realised the site I booked on was in US$. Now we were looking at C$653 plus change. No, No, No. This was so not worth it. The hotel and room was inadequate for the monies. Nope, never again, I will research more. Leason learned...
