I had a pleasant stay at the Best Western in Courtenay. The hotel is conveniently located close to downtown, restaurants, and shops, which made getting around very easy. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with a good bed and all the basic amenities needed for a relaxing stay.
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit, from check-in to check-out, and were happy to answer questions or provide assistance when needed. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was quiet and comfortable, making it a good place to unwind after a long day. A must visit is their restaurant - The Flying Canoe which is attached to the hotel.
The hotel it offers good value for the price and meets expectations for a reliable and comfortable stay. I would consider staying here again and would recommend it to others visiting Courtenay.

We rented a suite. The room, furnishings and beds were very comfortable but the heating unit (very noisily) went on and off all night and kept us awake. We awoke very tired. The breakfast was free, abundant and underwhelming.

Spotty, buffet breakfast. No elevator to second floor. Stairs from garage to lobby. This hotel shows signs of deterioration and is overdue for a serious renovation.
In the plus side, the rooms are clean and quiet and the ventilation system works well. There are some king rooms that do have elevator access.
The price does not reflect the current status of this property. A few more dollars provides a much better experience at the hotel across the street.

Awful. Used tissue beside the bed, no late check-out, yappy dog not taken care of for a couple of hours. Just the worst experience in a hotel 🛏️ have ever had. Don't stay there.
