They don't pick up the phone. Call center refers me to the branch. Have not returned messages either.
Edit: Also got no help from rating.reviewsupport@bmo.com despite their PR request, which shows they do not care about customers, but it's only an attempt to boost their reviews. They don't actually care. So not only is the Courtenay branch horrible, but also their online PR department, who did not call me as promised in the review reply. Worth noting that their call center was helpful once I mentioned that the branch never returned my calls. The call center was able to contact the manager of the branch, who told them "too bad, can't help we're busy and don't have enough staff". I had to get my issue that was created by the Courtenay branch fixed by a different branch. How embarrassing.

Completely impossible to reach by phone, they never ever answer and their voicemail is always full, I cannot get in contact with anyone at the front. I've been waiting on a credit card for over 2 months.
I wish I never transfered from Desjardin, a bank that doesn't even exists in BC, they had far better service even 5000kms away.
Their mortgage department is great though, I recommend them for this department.

Went to Bmo in courtenay and had the worst service.
Wanted to deposit a cheque that was endorsed by someone else to me and told them that i understood they would need to hold the cheque to ensure the funds cleared which i had no problem with . I have banked with BMO for over 40 years . I have more than enough in my account to cover the cheque the assistant manager was very rude and said even if it was 2.00 she would not do it. She told me that 10 years ago policy changed and they could not do that.
I went to my car and called customer serve and they looked it up in policy as well as spoke to customer service manager and said there is no reason that they could not have done it for me , my account is coded excellent . So not only rude but was not honest with me.
They told me i could go back into the bank and talk to them but i was now running behind and the way the management team is in there i try to avoid going to the branch at all cost.
If it wasn’t that i worked for Bmo for 42 years and had a wonderful career i would move to another bank.

If I could give a zero rating I would, called the bank last week to talk to my financial advisor and got told she was on holidays, and she will be back on Monday November 4. When to the bank yesterday and got told she would be back Friday , and she would call me ,when to close all my accounts today including my EFT portfolio and Retirement portfolio only to be told I needed to talk to my advisor, been waiting all day and still no call. Don't understand why the managers can't close these accounts when all the advisors are busy. This is the worst customer service I received in the 30 years I have been with this bank

If I could give 0 stars, I would.
I avoid going into this Branch, as much as I can.
I was treated terribly there, by a Teller, whom was friends with my new Husband’s Sisters in Law, when I was first married. The Teller, instead of writing the amount in an account, spoke loudly, and said, “ Good thing you married a Rich Man, because this account only had 70. in it!”. I was very embarrassed, and hissed at her to “ Shut her mouth”, but she kept going on about my Husband’s wealth, and me being a Trophy Wife. The Bank Manager overheard her bullying, and came out of his office, marched to her, and told her to clock out, that he would serve me. He apologized, and felt very badly. He also knew just how much our businesses were worth, and had to soothe feathers.
I only go in to the Branch if I have to, preferring my phone over this Teller.
She has retired, but she was the worst, and often did this sort of thing. How she kept her job? I have no idea.
Someone with no ethics, privy to everyone’s financial details, in a small town, is a Hell of a Liability. She did speak to her friends about me, and my little bit of money, and talked about my ‘ Trophy Wife’ status. Also totally unacceptable.
