    The service is abysmal and worthless. My bank account was compromised so i needed a new card. I went down to the branch for a new one. The lady at the counter could not find the unauthorized transactions despite them happening that same morning. She turns the screen and said "is this it here?" She shows me my paystatement from work and when i tell her "thats my pay from work" she looks almost dumbfounded when i tell her this. She ends up giving me a new card and i "activate" it then leave. Im across town before i found out the hard way my card was useless. I drive back to the branch so my card has a use other than using an atm. The lady who helped me took about a minute to activate the card which should've been done in the first place. I go on with my day and i find out i need to register my new card for online banking. I finally log in and ALL my e-transfer contacts are gone. I need to register for auto-deposit again which is yet another headache. My dad needs to contact the branch to renew the mortgage of the house and they dont pick up despite him calling for days now. Their answering machine is full. Everyone i know who is with BMO has been inconvenienced and im tired of jumping through hoops for simple things. Ive been with BMO for almost 10 years and their quality has steeply declined while everyone talks about how their bank is super easy service wise. This is the last straw for me and you should stay clear of this bank to avoid headaches.

    I have been a BMO customer for 51 years and the quality of service has become absolutely horrible. I have contacted the bank multiple times through the summer to make appointments and although I have left several messages, no one ever calls back. I have missed the deadlines for reinvesting several small investments and therefore have not been able to negotiate the best interest rates. I am seriously considering changing banks. Horrible service!!

    This is my first 1 star review. I have been trying to deal with my mortgage renewal since May. Calls have gone unanswered I’ve been shuffled off to online then told I have to deal with the Branch. I had an appointment that was cancelled the off the appointment. I was told they would find someone to help me. Now I have to into a branch in Vancouver between flights on my vacation!!! Honestly the customer service is bad. The manager is short with customers. This branch truly deserves their bad reviews.

    Rude senior customer service. I noticed that there was a charge on my account. I visited BMO Courtenay, on June 16th 2025 around 12 pm. I was patiently in line for few minutes may be 20-30 min, when I get my turn I asked the senior customer service. Why was there a charge on my account, she gave me a rude and incorrect answer, she was already in irritated mood. Later when I asked her in more detail, she realized that she had given the wrong answer. She did not even apologize and but irritated again. Than she said she can correct it, later showed so much irritation while checking the records. She said the charge is for money transfer from saving account to checkin account at branch location. (That I didn't do though, I have online app) I asked her it was polite to say that you are being charged when that happen at in person bank location. She rudely told me that she did not need to tell customer that everything was in the terms and conditions before opening a BMO bank account customer should read and sign. But she is working as a senior customer service she didn't know what all the charges, she gave me wrong answer. After that I did not say a word, she asked me to leave. I said that I was here to pick up a check. Later she got annoyed to help me and finally had to give me a check. You can decide if you want open a account.

    They admitted that . A man can walk in withdrawal his money. With no Debt Card or ID. Cause he is more valued as customer. Then any body else. I was not valued same way. THEY CONTINUE TO LIE. SHAME ON YOU
