I have been trying to close my Father's estate with this branch for just shy of a year. Every time I contact them they have some new excuse for the delay. They claim to not have contact information yet they have been sent this info as it is needed to fill out the paperwork which has long been filled out. They even ignore my lawyer when they inquire as to delay which costs the estate money every time the lawyer tries to contact them. Their silly phone system makes it near impossible to get through to the actual branch, instead they keep cycling you back to so-called customer care. My parents were loyal customers for decades yet since their passing they don't matter anymore. Do not put your money in CIBC you will never get it back.

When i went there today to get a credit card I was very pleased with the service! Ashley helped me set everything up, and when I had questions she didn't hesitate to take the time to walk me through it, i would say it was the best banking teller experience ive had!

I’m really disappointed with the service at this CIBC branch. I went in to update my SIN after becoming a permanent resident, which is something you are required to do. Employers and banks need your permanent SIN for proper tax reporting.
Instead of helping me, the staff told me I didn’t need to change it. That is flat-out wrong, and it shows a serious lack of training on something as basic as SIN rules. If I had taken their advice, it could have caused problems.
It’s frustrating to have to explain the actual rules to the people who are supposed to know them. This kind of misinformation is unacceptable, especially when it affects people’s taxes and legal status. The representative who was wearing a hijab was dismissive. The staff here clearly need proper training so this doesn’t happen to others.

We changed leadership at our strata corp. Went in to change signing authority. We were called in a second time to sign more papers that he had forgotten. Then they said they needed to change the bank account type as it was old and required our bylaws. I told him we do not have special bylaws, we follow the government bylaws. Our bookkeeper just tried to deposit some cheques and they can't as the account is now frozen. What kind of service is this? I'm a volunteer for the strata. I don't have time to deal with this crap. It should be so simple. I can't get a hold of the buy I was dealing with. He hasn't returned my call for a couple of days nor is anyone at the branch answering. I guess I need to go there again... :(
Update: So another 4 weeks went by. Was told a bunch of times the funds where unlocked just needed to get finished by head office. I guess they needed a land title search done. I was told they would do it (after I told them this is crazy and I'm not paying for that after having this account for 20+years). I guess they never did and that's why our account was frozen. Even though Vineeth told me the person who does those wasn't in that day and would get back to me Tuesday. Story after story. This is crazy. Was told today that head office was mostly to blame. Anyways, We have closed our accounts there now and are at TD. Oh, by the way I guess they can't print out your account history after they close the account. They have to manually do it and you have to go back to pick it up when they get that. So will have to go back one more time I guess. I can't believe this. You'd think we did something wrong right. Think again, this can happen to you. They told me today they froze another about 100 or so accounts for this same reason. Government trying to prevent money laundering...
