We changed leadership at our strata corp. Went in to change signing authority. We were called in a second time to sign more papers that he had forgotten. Then they said they needed to change the bank account type as it was old and required our bylaws. I told him we do not have special bylaws, we follow the government bylaws. Our bookkeeper just tried to deposit some cheques and they can't as the account is now frozen. What kind of service is this? I'm a volunteer for the strata. I don't have time to deal with this crap. It should be so simple. I can't get a hold of the buy I was dealing with. He hasn't returned my call for a couple of days nor is anyone at the branch answering. I guess I need to go there again... :(
Update: So another 4 weeks went by. Was told a bunch of times the funds where unlocked just needed to get finished by head office. I guess they needed a land title search done. I was told they would do it (after I told them this is crazy and I'm not paying for that after having this account for 20+years). I guess they never did and that's why our account was frozen. Even though Vineeth told me the person who does those wasn't in that day and would get back to me Tuesday. Story after story. This is crazy. Was told today that head office was mostly to blame. Anyways, We have closed our accounts there now and are at TD. Oh, by the way I guess they can't print out your account history after they close the account. They have to manually do it and you have to go back to pick it up when they get that. So will have to go back one more time I guess. I can't believe this. You'd think we did something wrong right. Think again, this can happen to you. They told me today they froze another about 100 or so accounts for this same reason. Government trying to prevent money laundering...

I am disappointed with the recent closure of the ATM at 2785 S Island Hwy, Courtenay, BC, after banking hours. This ATM provided essential convenience for depositing or withdrawing money outside regular hours. The lack of 24/7 access and alternative solutions like outdoor ATMs or security monitoring is perplexing. Considering annual and account fees, access to basic services like after-hours ATM should be a given. Reconsideration or alternative solutions are necessary for customer satisfaction.

Went there yesterday and deposited a bank draft. They said I had access to the funds right away. Went today to access the funds and they tell me it's now on hold. You guys are actually a joke.

Unfortunately writing this on behave of having a bad experience with Vineeth. Was supposed to get a credit card set up by him and sent to me within a week, after multiple emails to him for the past few months (since September) I finally got in contact with the manager to set up a phone call with him. The phone call never came. Instead I received a rude email from him saying he has been responding to me, which in fact he had not (checked junk mail and everything). With constant rude emails back from him I’ve decided to switch from CIBC as it is clear they don’t take pride in hiring professionals who take care of their clients.
