Just down from the Airforce Museum, the Airpark is the outside portion which has several planes and helicopters from the history of Canada's military aviation on display. It is fascinating to see these machines and read about them. This area is open and easy to visit, even if you choose not to visit the museum itself.

The indoor museum is wonderful. So many displays and information that you need at least two visits to process everything. Very thoughtful.
The Airpark on the other hand is much more visceral. Walking amongst the aircraft, you cannot help but feel an intensity, a purpose. Real planes on real missions with real crews. Close your eyes and just imagine.
A memorial to men and machines.
There are so many aircraft here. I've just highlighted two.
With space for more to come.

Our family stopped in last night to see the beautiful Christmas display set up at the Comox Heritage Airpark. There were quite a few beautiful, artistic touches, good job everyone! Some of the planes were not lit up as the breaker kept popping, besides that it was great. The light display runs from November 30 to December 31st (closed December 24 & 25), 2023 from 5pm to 8pm. Entry by donation.
