We loved everything about this restaurant. The food was fantastic, the service was warm. We tried three quarters of the menus and there is nothing we wouldn't order again. Oysters, swimming scallops, Caesar salad, crudo, baked oysters with chili... everything was fresh, tasty, with lots of umami. Too bad we are just passing through the area. If you love fresh seafood, you should come eat here!

My family and I were recommended by our hotel to visit this local spot for oysters. We know it's going to be fresh oysters but didn't expect such an incredible experience! Our server Tammy was friendly, personable, attentive and made our experience top notch. My parents wanted to order hot water but the restaurant didn't have any glassware or cups that can hold it, so the owner himself ended up lending us his personal collection of tea cups for us to use. Tammy assisted me with ordering only the top picks but ensured we didn't have too much food. The Caesar salad was top notch! Everything was top notch. We ordered the crudo, side bread, shrimp roll with caesar, oysters, and baked oysters with both styles! As a food experience consultant from Vancouver, I must say this is probably one of the best places I've ever had for fresh shellfish, great tasting food all around, and quality ingredients. A must go for visitors in Comox!

Oysters, shucker's pick,
Each one perfect, smooth and slick!
From Canada’s coastlines, both west and east, a Pacific and Atlantic shuckin’ feast!
The Steak Tartine with blue cheese was an absolute flavor bomb, and the Caesar salad? Hands down the best I've ever had! A perfect pair that makes you wish every meal could be this epic.
Thanks Gigi's... see you again soon. Cheers

Gigi’s is the kind of place that makes you wonder how a not yet year-old restaurant could manage to inspire its patrons so completely right from the get-go. Good ideas, good planning, a superb team, creative inspiration? Some combination?
Whatever the formula, we were thoroughly impressed with the food and the experience.
Our meal included a dozen fresh oysters, which, as our server explained in response to our question, needn’t only be consumed in ‘R’ months (e.g., JanuaRy, ApRil) as per the usual lore. Because most of the local varieties originally come from Japanese waters and were imported here in the early twentieth century, they have a different growth cycle. Whatever the science or history, the oysters were fabulously tasty, helped along by perfectly made traditional mignonette, green jalapeño sauce, lemon and horseradish.
We also enjoyed the outstanding ‘crudo,’ a plate of assorted raw fish bites marinated in olive oil, lemon juice, basil and capers.
The scallops in broth we had next tasted refined and fresh. This dish paired perfectly with a crisp traditional caesar salad in a balanced anchovy dressing, with a healthy sprinkling of grated Parmigiana-Reggiano.
Lastly we tried the shrimp roll, which was simple yet good with its light mayo sauce, in an unpretentious combo with potato chips.
The margaritas we had were icy, balanced, and not overly sweet.
Our server made us feel like welcome regulars — an impressive feat in Comox, with its summer surge of out-of-towners. We were even asked if the Latin jazz music was too loud (it wasn’t), something we’re almost never asked, and which reinforced Gigi’s personal touch.
We couldn’t have asked for a better seafood meal.
