I know people like to throw around five stars, but this facility definitely earned them.
When they notified me when my mother was approaching her end of life, I rushed over from the mainland to see her with no accommodations planned. They allowed me to spend the night in her room so I would have a safe place to stay while I booked an airbnb for the next day.
They made sure to make sure my needs were met when I would spend the day with her, even giving me meals. I never once felt like I was in the way.
When my mother passed, each nurse and care aide that knew her, came to comfort me, expressing their fondness. During one of the most heart wrenching moments of my existence, they made sure I was okay and reminded me how much my mother meant to everyone.
Another thing I appreciated was that they didn't sugarcoat their language. They weren't blunt, but explained the truth of what was happening. I know that sounds odd, but it kind of set me back into reality. They told me what was happening and didn't shield me from the process. It gave me appreciation for life and the process of death. They were respectful and kind and extremely professional. Everyone I met were well taken cared for and they had tons of stimulating activities and healthy meals.
I truly cannot thank Glacier View enough and recommend them 100%. I'm tearing up just thinking about my experience there and grateful my mom was surrounded by loving and professional people to end of her time.

Glacier View was supposed to receive my father as a long-term care resident, however parties unknown to me slandered my father and painted him out to be a difficult resident, which is totally untrue & as things stand he remains in what has been deemed by Island Health Licensing as a 'High Risk' facility. All of which I presented to Glacier View's executive director, Debbie Smethurst, who came up with all sorts of bogus excuses & who I feel, ultimately, couldn't have cared less.

My father Roland Mitchell, is currently residing at The Glacier View Lodge. It´s a bright and wonderful place that´s run by very caring individuals. My father is very happy here, he adores the caregivers, and greatly appreciates the daily music and activities.
Thank you to the wonderful staff, and a special thanks to Connie Odo, for her caring and extra ordinary ways.
Loving regards, Dianne Mitchell
