Need a new tube, tire, derailleur cable, or even a brand new bike? Hornby Island Outdoor is the only shop on Hornby where you can get replacement parts but they do it really well. In the summer there is a mechanic in the shop every day and unless you're looking for something very specialized, they'll probably have it.
Being 2 ferries away from any other bike shop means that getting stock is pretty expensive so you'll pay a bit more than you will in a larger center but faced with a full day of travel to go to the next larger shop and... well.. you do the math.
They also have skimboards, trail maps, clothing, etc.

Unfortunately, it was closed on saturday and individuals in our group were relying on renting bikes. We also required a tire pump, so i would recommend bringing your own.

Super nice staff that helped me plan a great MTB route. Rent a skim board for after you ride on the amazing trails of Hornby island!

Went into ask if they had bikes to rent. I was advised that they do not and all the bikes out front were for decoration. Thought this was odd but I guess they dont rent bikes.

The bikes were a little clunky but the rental costs are very reasonable.
