Owner Francois is the perfect host and guide. He's personable, accommodating, and jovial. Our outing began at the Beaufort Winery (recommended) and ended at the Wayward Distillery (definitely worth a look and a taste). The mood of our tour was relaxed, diverse, and, most importantly, fun. We learned and we laughed. The tour was well timed, capably facilitated, and pleasantly engaging. All in all, an exceptional experience. Tasty too, with a superior box lunch provided. Well done Island Gourmet Trails. Thanks for a most memorable outing.

We spent a wonderful afternoon traveling and tasting around Comox Valley with Francois. We covered all of our favorite food groups - wine, cheese, chocolate, tea and added to it some spice! The tour was relaxing, fun and very interesting. Comox Valley Culinary Tours tailors your tour to your personal interests. Francois shared some local tips on other places to visit in the area. We would recommend this culinary experience to round out any travel itinerary to this lovely island paradise.

Our tour with Island Gourmet Trails was the highlight of our trip to Comox Valley. Mary and Francois were very responsive in their communication, and selected some really wonderful places to visit according to our interests. Francois was a great tour guide, going the extra mile to pick us up early from the airport and to show us a few places for photos before our first stop at Beaufort Winery. Every vendor we stopped at were so welcoming and generous with their time. The picnic lunch provided by The Mustard Lady was outstanding (some of the best cheese I have ever tasted!) , and we enjoyed this while we sampled wines at Beaufort. We enjoyed a stop at the Clever Crow Farm Store, and had the best date square I have eaten probably ever. Grabbed a few interesting spice blends there as well. A stop at Hot Chocolate was delightful, and again they were so gracious with their time (and samples!). And our final stop at Wayward Distillery was fascinating, getting a tour and learning about how they distill spirits from honey. The tasting room was a lot of fun as well! Thank you Island Trail Gourmet for the best afternoon and for going above and beyond. It felt like a day out with new friends. I 100 percent recommend taking a tour with this great small business to explore this beautiful area and all of the amazing businesses here.

I highly recommend Island Gourmet Trails! My friend and I enjoyed our afternoon immensely and we saw so much more of the Comox Valley than we would have on our own. Thank you Francois and to all the wonderful people we met! We will be back!

Didn’t rent a car but looking to hit all the hotspots in Comox Valley while you’re visiting? Island Gourmet Trails has you covered! Tell Mary and Francois what type of sights and tours you like to see and do and they’ll customize your day for you. Mary has a new, clean and comfortable Toyota Highlander that she’ll pick you up in at the front door of your accommodations. She even comes prepared with umbrellas for rainy season, water bottles to keep you hydrated and a cooler to keep any perishable purchases fresh (think cheeses, veggies and cured meats for a charcuterie board to snack on back at the hotel). From there she’ll take you to curated venues and tell you a bit about each place and local landmarks along the way (but not so much that you can’t enjoy your own personal conversations). We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and particularly our delicious lunch at Locals Restaurant. Value for money is off the charts, don’t hesitate to book for your next trip to the island!
