I was excited to try on some good walking shoes and I know that Searles usually has some good choices. I entered the store was greeted by two women standing, appeared to be waiting to help . I said I am looking for some good comfortable walking shoes for an upcoming trip. They did not move. A young man then said “I can’t tell you what shoes are comfortable. All our shoes are good” ,in such a rude and dismissive way. I immediately left the store went over to the new sports store and dropped $500 on two pairs of comfortable walking shoes assisted by a sales associate who was very helpful. The service at Searles was awful. I’m done shopping there.

This is the best shoe store on vancouver island in my opinion. The selection is amazing, anything you need you can find here from working shoes for nursing, hiking boots and shoes, beautiful dress shoes. Everything! Also, the staff they have is so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

I came in with foot pain & the wonderful woman who helped me got me the exact insert I needed for a pain-free backpacking trip. Thanks for putting me at ease!

I've enjoyed decades of excellent, knowledgeable, client- centered service at Searle'. They carry the highest quality merchandise to fit my very fussy feet. I still wear a pair of boots that I must have bought about 15-20 years ago there! I can't get shoes anywhere else in this valley. Plus regular, decent sales. 😀⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’ve had some good experiences at Searle’s in the past, but today that was not the case. I went in looking for a casual shoe in a size 14. Previously Searle’s has been the only place in the valley where I could reliably find larger sizes. The vast majority of the shoes in my current rotation are from Searle’s. Today, not a thing in stock that even came close to my needs. When I commented that they used to be great for larger shoe sizes, I was told that people with bigger feet haven’t been shopping as much. That’s going to be a self fulfilling prophecy if you don’t have stock anymore. I used to buy a couple pairs of shoes and boots a year, but I guess I’ll have to head down island instead.
