We are beyond grateful for the incredible care and companionship that Seniors Wheels and Care provided for our father, Gerry Sando, during the final years of his life.
With a lot of patience, humour, and genuine care, Darren formed a bond with our dad that went far beyond anything we expected. His friendship brought light, laughter, and humanity, and became something Dad could rely on and truly look forward to. My mom and I would often joke that he seemed more irritated by the lockdowns keeping him from seeing Darren than from missing us.
At a time that was incredibly difficult, Darren helped ease the heavy feelings of guilt that often come when you're not sure if you're doing enough. It’s easy to feel helpless and overwhelmed by the realities of the healthcare system and the emotional toll of watching a loved one decline—but knowing we had someone we could rely on made a huge difference.
The connection Darren built with our dad, and the comfort he provided right through to his final days, is something we will never forget. We will always be thankful for the care, consistency, and genuine friendship he brought into our father’s life.
