So the location is good,
The rooms were spacious
BUT the cleanliness was an issue. We kept finding these giant ants in the room and the under side of the toilet was still dirty (gross).
Also the tv didn't work, which wasn't a big deal as it was one night and we were just going to bed anyway but it should have been working. Also it looked like all the room staff were 13.
Also the breakfast was pathetic, I understand it was complementary but, I stayed at another hotel just down the street a few weeks ago and the complimentary breakfast was awesome so doesn't really hold up as an excuse. Also the guy working the front desk was sort of a jerk

Nobody seems to care here. Staying for two weeks on a work shift and even after requesting a room tidy after a week I still didn't get it. In the end I went and got towels, sheets, etc by myself and cleaned my room on my own after working 10h days every day.
You can find a better motel in town if you are going to be having a more long term stay. Overall, the rooms are okay.

Was a decent place to stay, we stayed for a longer than usual period and they were very consistent. Breakfasts were alright for the most part, waffle makers would inifnitely improve the breakfast plus they would prevent waste if they're isn't a lot of people eating. The laundry room could use a deep cleaning, other than that, staff were great, location is central and room prices were reasonable. We did have some noisy guests above us so maybe signage stating quiet hours but thats not overly necessary. I'm sure if we had called the front they would have anonymously requested the people above us to quiet down, it was 1am after all.

Room absolutely disgusting. Super dirty and a TON of mold in the bathroom. There were also a lot of flies and holes in the curtains. We tried to leave (granted, it was after 11) and they refused to give us any refund for the day. I took down the number for the manager so that we can hopefully recover the costs from the day we didn’t stay. I would highly recommend going elsewhere.

I’m hoping this is the Comox Super 8 because I can’t find it online, it comes up as Courtenay. We were turned away.
My bf recently booked me & my teenage daughter a room here because she had a flight to catch. First flight ever, & had to go alone. We’re new to BC. He used his credit card. We drove 3 hrs to get there, it was dark and cold. I was asked to give my cc for a deposit. I don’t have one, why can’t they take it off my debit card? Guaranteed money, refund me in the morning. We just need to sleep for a few hours.
Port Augusta helped us out. They let me pay the room price & the deposit with my debit card, and refunded me in the morning. Life savers!!♥️
I’ll rate 5 when they refund his $140 that they kept even though we didn’t even stay because they turned us away. Why couldn’t they just take the money from my debit card and refund it in the morning? Beyond ridiculous.
