I have never felt so embarrassed and humiliated in a store before.
I purchased a pack of Pokémon biscuits at the self-checkout and paid for them in full. As I was walking out of the store, an employee suddenly ripped the biscuits out of my hands and accused me of not paying. This happened in front of other customers, and I was made to feel like a thief over something I had already paid for.
The employee took me back to the self-checkout machine, where it showed that my payment had gone through. Despite this clear proof, there was no apology. Instead, the employee took the biscuits from me again and walked away with them.
I was left standing there completely embarrassed and horrified. Being publicly accused of stealing, especially when I had done nothing wrong, was deeply upsetting and humiliating.
No customer deserves to be treated like a criminal after paying for their items. This experience was unacceptable and has seriously affected how safe and respected I feel shopping at this location.

I was disappointed with the level of professionalism displayed by Dianne at Walmart. She was speaking loudly about personal matters while ringing up customers, which made the interaction feel awkward and unprofessional. It’s understandable to have casual conversations, but when it interferes with customer service, it becomes an issue. I expect staff to stay focused and maintain a more professional tone while working. I don’t need to know about your personal stories or worries.
She clearly lacked basic communication skills. There was no greeting, no confirmation of the total, and no “thank you” at the end of the transaction. She was just focused on telling me about how she felt about some personal situation. It felt invasive in the worst way. Even small gestures of courtesy can significantly improve a customer’s experience, and unfortunately, that was missing here.

I had a very disappointing experience at this Walmart. The Asian female employee who assisted me was dismissive and unhelpful when I asked a simple question about product availability. Instead of checking the system or offering alternatives, they seemed confused, annoyed and rushed me off. Customer service should be about helping shoppers, not making them feel like a burden. I hope management addresses this and provides better training, as this experience does not reflect well on the store.

I have nothing but good things to say about Walmart in Coutenay............I like self checkouts v/s standing in line at the manned check out. Having said that, the staff in the self check out area have always offered their help; they are always friendly and helpful and I really appreciate their prices. Never a problem with returns either. As I shop there a lot, I'm in disbelief when I read all the negative reviews.

Would leave 0 stars if possible. Tried to get photos printed here - showed up 48 hrs later to get these "same day" prints and they weren't ready. No one was able to tell me why or when they might be ready. Called the number provided by the chat bot and apparently the photos have been deleted with no way of printing or retrieving them. No explanation provided as to why they were never printed. Waste of my time. And no one seems to have any idea what's going on at that store.
